Get STARTED

START

START is OSU's new student orientation. At START you will get to start meeting and forming important connections with OSU faculty, staff and other new students, learn about campus resources, support systems and ways to get involved on campus, and also meet with academic advisors to learn about university and academic major requirements and register for your Fall term classes. First year START is for students beginning their first year or traditionally called the "freshman year" of college.  Regardless of your AP/IB credits, if this is your first time attending a college or university you will need to attend a first year START.

International Student Orientaton

At the beginning of each term, there is a mandatory orientation program for new international students. This program is designed to provide you with valuable information and facilitate your transition to OSU and the United States. This orientation is also a way to connect with other students and find out about services and activities to support you.

Term Orientations

Term Orientations are OSU's orientations for new students who begin classes in either Winter or Spring terms. OSU's typically offers two winter term orientations, one in mid-December, one in early January and spring orientation once a year during Spring Break. For more information about Term Orientation visit the NPSFO homepage.

Welcome Week

Welcome Week begins with Move-In Day in the residence halls and lasts throughout the first week of classes. It features numerous activities designed to help new students get more acquainted with all the great offices, programs and opportunities here at OSU. Some events will introduce you to new skills and resources for academic success, others will help you meet faculty and other students in your academic college (Forest, Engineering, University Exploratory Studies, etc.), others are designed to help you meet other new students like yourself. A full list of Welcome Week activities is available in early September at welcome.oregonstate.edu.
